Parade of Lights!!!

Parade of Lights!!!  This was our first year attending this.  We stood on the corner of 10th and Illinois street and about 10 floats or cars with lights went in front of us down the street.   The last float of was a fire truck with Santa on it and decked out in lights. It started at about 10th and Newton and came towards us, then turn to the East once it reached Illinois street.  I'm really glad the whether was wonderful at about 65 degrees it was worth seeing those few cars with Christmas lights on them.  One float even had a group of carolers singing Christmas songs.  Too bad ya really couldn't hear them, but you knew what they were trying to do. LOL
After the parade we walked to Hickory Square where Santa joined us and turned the lights on the big pine tree.  He walked around a bit then eventually walked over to the Elks Lodge and sat and took pictures with everyone.  Although the line was a mess and very disorganized, if you were willing to wait up to 2 hours for a photo, the kids were happy.

Shortcut to Cheyenne,WY via Archer

SHORTCUT to CHEYENNE,WY VIA ARCHER 1 hour 30 minute one way
I went to Cheyenne, WY to do some shopping.  Most of the great stores are located on Dell Range Blvd.  So when I left Sidney, NE I went on I80 west all the way to US-30 W exit, EXIT 370, toward Archer.  Turn right onto Field Stations Rd/US-30 W.  Turn left onto US Highway 30/US-30 W.  Turn right onto Dell Range Blvd.  This brings you to the mall and major retail stores in Cheyenne.  For lunch I stopped at Steamboats Steak House.  This is a very nice place and will definitely be going back.  When I was leaving for home, it was dark and I drove past this house among others and the Christmas lights were wonderful.  So for those that travel to Cheyenne, this shortcut via Archer will help ya get to the shopping area faster.
